# The Flows

As [Elif Şafak](https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/480508-do-not-go-with-the-flow-be-the-flow) (and some ancient Chinese wise women/wise men) teaches us: “Do not go with the flow. Be the flow.” And you know what? It [actually works](https://twitter.com/Scaleswapio/status/1427630183473983496). Our engineering and business teams spend almost a year designing and testing ScaleSwap flow. We did it for our applicant projects and our community members, whom we (somewhat ironically) call swappers. We are constantly innovating this process as new technologies sprout out in the DeFi ecosystem \[[Conti](/scaleswap/list-of/references.md)].
